Mrs Sunderland Festival

On Thursday 13th February our Choir travelled to Manchester to compete again in the prestigious Mrs Sunderland Festival held in Huddersfield Town Hall. In the morning they sang "While the tanks roll by" and "We are the children" in the Year 6 and under class. They performed brilliantly but the standard was very high!In the afternoon, they sang a tricky piece called "Snow" and their new favourite song "Refuge" in the Year 9 & under novice class and were placed 3rd!The adjudicator, Sam Dunkley, said that "Refuge" was the best piece they had sung all day and that they did a brilliant job of getting the emotions across to the audience!Well done choir!Their next competition is on Sunday 23rd March and is the Regional Festival of Music for Youth to be held at Colne Valley High School in Huddersfield. If the choir get through, they will get to go to Birmingham in July to sing at the National Festival of Music for Youth! Good luck!!
